Panel Discussion: Working Together for a More Inclusive Audiovisual Industry

The audiovisual sector (animation, film, television, documentaries) represents a promising opportunity for inclusive economic growth in the decades to come—not to mention an important dimension of each country’s cultural landscape.

Key stakeholders in the audiovisual sector increasingly see the value of an inclusive and diverse workforce. At the same time, concerted and coordinated efforts are crucial to ensure that the benefits of a dynamic audiovisual ecosystem continue to reach as many creative voices as possible. Therefore, it is imperative that stakeholders in all sectors (private, public, multilateral, non-profit) work together and exchange best practices to ensure that the future of the audiovisual sector is as inclusive as possible.

This cross-sectoral panel will share their insights and learnings, including: How do members of underrepresented or marginalized communities learn about and gain access to opportunities in the audiovisual sector? How can partnerships be the most rewarding, and how can these be scaled to other regions or other sectors? These are some of the primary questions that this side event aims to address.
